- Thoroughly bathe and rinse your pet about 2 days before your sitting. If you have long-haired dogs or cats, use a blow dryer if they will tolerate it.
- Stick with a grooming plan that you already know works for your pet. I don't recommend trying a new shampoo or conditioner right before the sitting.
- If you don't do your own bathing or grooming, have your pet professionally groomed 1-2 days before your sitting. The best way to find a good groomer is by word of mouth. Ask your pet-owning friends or your veterinarian for recommendations.
- Don't forget to clean your pet's ears and eyes, too. Eyes usually need to be rechecked immediately before the sitting.
- Please let your pets have a potty break right before the sitting. Backdrops are expensive and difficult to clean.
- If you have multiple pets, please bring enough leads to secure them while one individual is being photographed.
- Practice commands such as Sit, Stay, and Down well before your sitting date or event.
